About North Marin Water District
North Marin Water District serves a suburban population of 61,000 people situated in and about the City of Novato which is located in a warm inland coastal valley of Marin County, California and several small improvement districts in the West Marin area near the coast.
Formed by voter approval in April 1948 pursuant to provisions of the County Water District Law (refer to Water Code - Division 12). A "voter-run" district.
We provide an adequate supply of safe, reliable and high quality water and deliver reliable and continuous sewer service to our customers at reasonable cost consistent with good conservation practices and minimum environmental impact.
We carry out our mission with a highly motivated and competent staff empowered to conduct the District's business by placing customer needs and welfare first. We seek continual dialogue from our staff, peers, and all those we serve so that we may continually improve service to our customers.
North Marin Water District is an independent special district governed by a five-member Board of Directors elected at large for four-year terms.
